Decommissioning of Systems

In today’s day and age, there is a great consciousness about Occupational Health and Safety, and also of the impact we have on the environment. Great care needs to be taken to ensure that systems at the end of their useful life are removed in a safe and effective manner. Some of the things that need to be considered include:

  • Removal and appropriate disposal of potentially harmful chemical components
  • Risks associated with the methods used in demolition and removal of systems
  • Impact on other parts of wider systems
  • Impact on other systems previously integrated with the now defunct system

It is highly recommended that you consult a professional before attempting any form of decommissioning, removal or destruction of any system to ensure that you do so in a manner that both meets your legal obligations and your fire protection needs.
